Target Test Prep GMAT Course Review 2021: What You SHOULD …
Other than the fact that this prep course is for the Quant section only, everything about this prep course was impressive. Once you’re done with this course, don’t be surprised if your Quant skills drastically improve
This prep course can be very effective for students who are looking to ace the Quant section of the GMAT. However, if you’re looking for a full and balanced prep, this might not be for you.
As a Quant-only GMAT prep course, this is one of the cheapest online. If you want massive improvement in all sections, go for a more complete course, but you can expect them to be more expensive.
Ease of Use
I was very impressed by the platform’s ease of use. The lessons are designed to improve your Quant skills and work on your weaknesses in the Quant section of the GMAT.
There are a lot of students, including myself, who have taken this course and can attest to how effective it is in boosting a student’s Quant skills. The reviews of this prep course have been off the charts.

Curriculum Overview & Effectiveness
What This Course Has to Offer
As mentioned, Target Test Prep provides resources only for the Quant section. It does not offer full-length practice tests, verbal video lessons, or essay reviews. If you’re looking for a more balanced prep course that touches all sections of the GMAT equally, then other prep courses might be more suitable for you.
However, if you’re already confident in your skills on the verbal and writing sections of the GMAT and are looking to double down on Quant, then this prep course is ideal for you.
Generally, this is what you’re getting out of this prep course (1):
- 500+ individual lessons
- 3000+ real GMAT practice questions
- 800+ HD GMAT videos
- Learning analytics
- Practice engine
- Live support
Considering that Target Test Prep is a 100% Quant course, I believe that the amount of practice questions and video lessons this prep course provides is great. If you’re able to answer more than half of Target Prep’s Quant practice questions, there’s a good chance you’ll do great on the Quant section of the actual GMAT.
Analytics and Trackers
One of the features I and most Target Test Prep GMAT test prep reviews like about this prep course is the OnTarget Analytics feature. This feature allows you to see your progress throughout the prep course. It will show you the topics you have worked on the most and those you still need improvements in.
This prep course also has an Error Tracker, in which you can log in your reasons for getting wrong answers to practice questions. This is a good tool to determine how you can answer questions more efficiently based on your weaknesses.
Higher Score Guarantee
Target Test Prep GMAT Review Course is confident in boosting your GMAT score that they are willing to give back your money if you don’t. This prep course provides a higher score guarantee. If your score on the Quantitative section of the GMAT will not improve after taking the course, you’re going to get your money back.
To be eligible for the refund, you must have taken the GMAT at least once previously and have completed all the modules in the course you had purchased.
If you want a more intensive preparation, you can also consider Target Test Prep’s private tutoring services for $300/hr. What I and many Target Test Prep GMAT tutoring reviews like about this course’s tutoring services is the coverage.
Unlike regular course offers, Target Test Prep’s tutoring covers all sections of the GMAT: Quant, Verbal, and Integrated Reasoning.
If you want to focus on Quant, but still looking to refresh some concepts and knowledge on Verbal and IR, then you can consider tutoring as an add-on.
How Effective is Target Test Prep GMAT?
Target Test Prep is a very effective prep course for the GMAT Quant. Yes, This prep course is only providing resources for Quant, but with how the lessons and practice quizzes are set up, you’re sure to improve your skills.
With its analytics and error tracker features, you will be able to discover your strengths and work on your weaknesses at once. Again, this prep course does not cover all sections and topics on the GMAT, so its effectiveness depends on what your goals are. If you’re looking to boost your Quant skills, however, this prep course is definitely ideal for you.
Course Pricing Options
Unlike other prep courses, Target Test Prep’s packages have the same inclusions. That means you’ll get the same amount of practice questions, video lessons, and practice tests whichever package you choose. The only difference between packages is the duration of access and the billing recurrence.
Here are the prices for the Target Test Prep GMAT test prep courses:

Given that Target Test Prep is a Quant-only course, its price range is one of the cheapest among GMAT prep courses. If you’re willing to invest in a prep course that will help you improve your Quant skills, then you can go for this course.
If you want a more balanced prep, you can choose other prep courses online, but you can expect these courses to be more expensive than Target Test Prep.
Prep Course Run-through and Platform’s Ease of Use
For you to have a good grasp of Target Test Prep’s platform’s ease of use, I took some screenshots of the chapters, video lessons, practice questions, and quizzes.
Here is what the dashboard looks like:
As you can see, the number of days remaining before your scheduled GMAT is shown on the dashboard. It also shows your chosen target score. The information will help you keep track of how much time you have left to prepare for the test. The modules, moreover, are placed right below the remaining days and target score.
Let’s get to the lessons.
The Quant lessons and modules are optimized for a more efficient prep experience. The font styles, sizes, and colors used are easy to the eye. What I find impressive about Target Test Prep prep classes is that you can highlight important lines, phrases, or numbers and add notes to them, just like what is shown on the screenshot above. You can go back to these notes later on as you review them.
At the end of each lesson, example questions are provided to assess your understanding. Whether you got the answer right or incorrectly, you can always view the solution and explanation for the answer. What’s even better is that you get instructor-led video solutions for a more thorough explanation of the solution.
If you got an answer wrong, you are also provided with video solutions and text explanations, but that is not all. This prep course has an Error Tracker feature for every mistake you make on the practice questions. It will tell you the reason why you got the answer wrong. The prep course will keep a record of these reasons for your mistakes, so you would know how to resolve them.
The video solutions are very adaptable for learning. The question is placed on a whiteboard, and the solutions are hand-written. What’s great about these videos is that the instructor will show you the step-by-step solution for each problem. This way, you won’t get lost in solving and practicing.
These tests are given to assess your understanding of a chapter in the course. The good thing about the Target Test Prep GMAT practice test is that you can customize the time given for a question on the test. You can give yourself some time to solve each question or you can set the time parallel to the timing of the real GMAT. It’s up to you.
In the upper portion of the chapter test, you can see the remaining time for the question and the remaining time for the whole test. This is a great way for you to practice time management on the GMAT.
This feature is one of my favorite things about Target Test Prep. This course allows you to customize your own practice test! Through this feature, you can choose what topics to include on the test, how many questions are in the test, and what is the difficulty level of the topics. This feature is a great tool to use in working on your weaknesses on the GMAT.
