One of the unique features of PrepScholar SAT is the hour-by-hour pattern (1). If you are looking for an organized and chronological way of studying for the SAT, follow this program. This is designed to provide you with a much more organized prep experience.

Curriculum Overview & Effectiveness

PrepScholar SAT is 100% online. This means physical materials, such as books and DVDs, are not provided in this course. The practice questions, practice tests, and video lessons are all accessible online. Depending on your preference, this can be an advantage or not.

An online-only prep course such as the PrepScholar SAT is efficient for busy students. However, there are still some students who prefer to study with traditional books and paper-based tests. Unfortunately, PrepScholar does not provide these.

PrepScholar sends a weekly email report to both parents and students, showing them how many hours a student studied for the week. They also send compliments for good performances and warnings whenever the student is slacking off.

PrepScholar SAT simplified the preparation process through an hour-by-hour pattern. Once you decide to take the course, this is how you are going to take it. Do note, though, that the hours you spend on a particular activity can vary.

First 10 minutes

In the first ten minutes of the course, you will be able to create your account and fill in your payment information. You will then answer a survey that will help the test experts provide you with content that is suitable to you and your style.

First Hour

After the registration, you can immediately take the diagnostic test. This 60-minute test will assess you and identify your strengths and weaknesses across all the subjects in the SAT. PrepScholar utilizes Harvard-PhDs-developed algorithms in this diagnostic test, so you will be evaluated accordingly.

Hours 2-10

After the diagnostic test, you will then take 8 60-minute lessons.

One lesson includes:

  1. Teaching portion (first 20 minutes) – This includes text and video lessons, core concepts, and SAT strategies.
  2. Practice quiz (middle 20 minutes) – Includes 20 questions that will test your understanding of the lessons.
  3. Review portion (last 20 minutes) – The last 20 minutes will be allotted for reviewing your mistakes in the practice quiz. Detailed answer explanations are available for each question.

Hours 11-14

On the 11th hour of the program, you will be taking a full-length practice test. You will be provided the official SAT study guide, which contains real practice tests from the College Board. The test takes 3 hours. You can use papers for solutions and necessary writings, but you will have to enter your final answers online.

One good thing about PrepScholar is that they offer essay grading. You can upload and submit an essay to an instructor and they will give you feedback for improvement.

Hours 15+

The next hours will be for the continuation of your customized prep. At this point, you will be able to develop your skills through text and video lessons and further test your understanding through practice quizzes.
